A Saturday in the city
Emma is 17 years old and she lives in a small town. On Saturdays, she usually goes to the city with her friend Lucy. They take the bus at 9:15 in the morning because it is cheap and easy.
First, they go to a café near the bus station. Emma always drinks tea, and Lucy usually has hot chocolate. They often eat a sandwich there because they do not have breakfast at home.
After that, they like walking around the city centre. Emma loves bookshops, so they often visit a big bookshop on King Street. Lucy does not read very much, but she enjoys looking at postcards and small notebooks.
At about one o’clock, they meet Emma’s cousin, Daniel. He works in a sports shop in the centre, but on Saturdays he finishes work early. Sometimes he joins the girls for lunch.
In the afternoon, Emma and Lucy usually go to the park if the weather is nice. If it rains, they go to the cinema instead. They normally return home at about six in the evening.
